back into the swing of things…

April 14, 2010 | personal

I arrived from Haiti late Saturday night and have been furiously editing all my images to send to my group members.  I am only blogging the images on my wedding blog, mainly, to save time, so be sure to check www.whitneyelizabethblog.com for my recount of each day in Haiti.  It was the most incredible experience of my life and I am certain that I will be going back in the future…Haiti is an amazing country with the most soulful, spiritual and resilient people I have ever met.

If you want to help in some small way, please email me if you would like to donate a tent (VERY MUCH needed as millions of people are displaced) or if you have any old eye glasses (reading or distance) you can mail them to me and I will make sure they arrive at our Haitian clinic!!

Thank you all for your support!!!

a look at family art {charlotte family photography}

March 24, 2010 | inspiration

As you know, I love finding inspiration for photographic wall art so that I can better help my clients…each client and each home is different. We all have different decor tastes and feng shui needs.  This morning, I was scouring the internet for more interesting looks and I came across this image (from Elle Decor).

What I love about this display is how the frames and images are such odd sizes.  Of course, not every image could be justified cropped to one of these sizes, but this image excites me about trying some new displays.  What do you think about it?  The writer suggests mixing new and old photographs of yourself as a child and then photographs of your own children and possibly even your parents.  I love this idea–I mean, isn’t that what photography is all about?  Preserving memories for generations to come?

Coming soon, I will be sharing displays from my clients homes that we have created together–super excited!!  Stay tuned :)

  • Heidi: I love that display...the large rectangle frames are my favorite. And I think that's a great idea about the pictures from different generations - what a great family tribute! (03.24.2010 11:48am)

I recently had the pleasure of photographing these sweet twins.  What I loved about these little guys is that they worked as a team while they were playing–they were so helpful with each other–too cute!!
